i've only see the second movie so idk if i missed this but did Bumper and Rebel Wilson's character break up?

anyways happy to see Adam and Sarah work together. everyone except the modern family writers/ep knew they were suppose to be endgame! smh at the writers saying that their relationship wasnt fun to write once they got together so they didnt call Adam back even when he wanted/thought he was going to go back.
