Right? Horror was so fun back then. I’d skipped all the old school classic Jason and Freddy movies, so when I got into these late 90s gems as my first look into horror, I was like “Oh shit, I’m missing out. Horrors a good time with super cute boys to look at!”

Then Saw happened and, I could be mistaken, but I feel like it had the whole genre shift after that to straight up gore and torture porn. Bleh.

Saw and then Eli Roth getting money. Then things like Netflix and blockbuster mail service letting people find they real hard to find stuff really radicalized it towards the torture porn niche.

That story about the contest winner writing and directing the "what are you waiting for" scene always gives me a sensible chuckle. JLH sold the hell out if it, I never would've known.

I remember seeing this in the theaters. I would have been 14, almost 15, lol. But yeah, Freddie Prince Jr. did things for me…

“What are you waiting for???!!!!”

I'm pretty sure I saw this in theaters, even though I was maybe a bit too young. My little step-sis was definitely too young, but my step-dad used to just bring us to see whatever movies we wanted to see back then, LOL.
