The same storm is weird timing

They could make that movie 20 years from now, but two years is weird

i juuuust mentioned this in the roundup, but glass onion tickets go on sale here in canada tomorrow and i'm not sure what time they'll be released (midnight EST?). if anyone knows what time cineplex usually releases them, please share! it's been ages since i last tried to get tickets right when they went on sale.

otherwise, i've been working my way through the scream films for the spooky season and have watched 3/5 so far. for something completely different lol i'll likely check out rosaline this weekend because it looks cute. i am already way behind on awards season watches.

Planning to see Till and Decision to Leave in the next week. Rosaline looks cute, might have to check that out, too. And hopefully getting into an early screening of Bones and All tomorrow, but that is TBD.

Recent watches:

Tár: Loved this, easily the best thing I've seen so far this year. Cate Blanchett was incredible, as was Nina Hoss. The direction was superb. I want to go see it again at some point.

Triangle of Sadness: This was too long, but very funny! Maybe a little too on the nose, but a great film to see in a theater for the crowd reactions alone - the audience laughing and groaning made it more enjoyable. I wouldn't single out any one actor as being award-worthy because it's such an ensemble piece, but I'm not mad about them pushing Dolly de Leon. So sad about Chalbi Dean, she was great. My husband loved this movie.

Did you ever get a chance to watch Avatar or Saving Private Ryan

Yes, we went to see the 3D IMAX rerelease of Avatar. Visually, it looked amazing! The story is okay, the script was actively bad, and Sigourney Weaver was weirdly terrible?? But it was definitely worth seeing in the theater + we'll definitely go see the new one.

As for Saving Private Ryan, I'm gonna wait to see it til they show it at the Academy Museum, so I have no idea when that will be.

It was released in South Korea in June, so presumably it's already been released in a lot of markets. But it's just getting a US release now, probably because of awards reasons.

I’m very excited to see “All Quiet on the Western Front” when it comes available on Netflix. I love Daniel Brühl, but I also feel like the book and the story it tells is such an important voice from that Great War.
