I watched Luckiest Girl Alive which was meh and imo would’ve been better as a limited series but I liked Mila Kunis and the actress who played younger Ani.

Tar still isn’t playing in my area yet and isn’t listed as Coming Soon (?) but maybe they’ve not updated yet.

We thought about going to double feature of Halloween (which was re-released) then Halloween Ends but I’ve not seen any of the ones in between so idk if I’d be lost, plus I’m usually a scaredy cat over horror films lol so idk

Decision to Leave - agree with reviews that said plot was too convoluted and it ran on for too long. Tang Wei’s amazing in it tho

Minari - finally watched this one but felt that it was good but not like mind blowing lol I would’ve liked this if the ending was more bitter, it felt wrapped up too nicely ~American dream for me

I've seen ads for Till where the director is saying that she wanting to make a movie showcasing black joy, and that the film begins and ends in a place of a joy. And it's just really odd to me to tell that story if that's your goal, but maybe it makes sense in context.

lol I wanna talk about Tar and the Gawker response to and other critics' defense of Richard Brody's review.

I really liked it (maybe more so on an intellectual level than a gut level), but coming out of the theater, I was already thinking of the all the ways people may perceive the film's treatment of Lydia Tar. Even when I mostly agree with a review, there's some aspect of it that another person interpreted completely differently. Lots of interesting things to chew on.

The Till preview that I saw before Don’t Worry Darling already had me crying.
