"But the musician, who joined forces with Warren Ellis to record the film’s soundtrack, shrugged off mass criticism surrounding the biopic and insisted it’s some of the best cinematography he’s ever laid eyes on."

the best cinematography he’s ever laid eyes on

sounds like he's one of the folks who doesn't really pay attention to content as long as he's looking at something really, really pretty.

Tbf, bad people can make good movies (I love Jeepers Creepers), but misogynistic movies like Blonde are just misogynistic movies.

True, true. And it's worse because MM was a real person, not just a fictional female character who's forced to suffer a lot.

My favorite film changes almost everyday, but some of my all time faves are The Skin I Live In, Cube, The Art of Self-Defense and Hot Fuzz.

My favorite movie is a toss up between Shaun of the Dead and The Godfather. But Hot Fuzz is also pretty high up on there.

I have 2 absolute favs, one controversial.

"Survive Style 5+" Japanese film about 5 wild, interlocking stories including a man who keeps killing his wife (who keeps coming back to fuck him up) a murderous advertising rep, a man who gets hypnotized and thinks he's a bird, a group of teens robbing houses where two of the members might secretly be in love with each other, and a hitman. Both Tadanobu Asano and Vinny Jones is in it, lol.

The second is "The Holy Mountain" and that film...is a lot. It's stunning and fucked up at the same time.

I loved all the stories. The scene where the wife comes back to life and cooks him a huge breakfast before commencing to beat his ass always makes me laugh, plus I love their house.

There was a time when Asano was my unrealistic fancasting for Bond. I still think it could be very fun.
