I'm lucky to have a job where I can work from anywhere, and about once a month I check out different cities/states to move to so I can see how much better people outside of austin have it. but honestly most major cities that are worth living in are all overpriced, so do I even want to live in america anymore?? my lease is up in march so I guess we'll see 🥲

I live downtown in a mid-sized Wisconsin city and work 100% remote and have really been considering moving lately. This city is becoming very unaffordable. 1 BR apartments two years ago were in the $700 range; now they are well over $1k. But somewhere cheaper means somewhere in a small town where there are MAGA people everywhere, or in the country where I wouldn't necessarily feel safe as a single woman. Nothing really feels like the right call.
