OMG, I'm high and after quickly scanning the pictures it looks like Michelle Yeoh is chastising Brendon Fraser and the people in the other two pictures are watching this abuse. Mess!

I feel like the woman king is going to flop this weekend and there is going to be a lot of exhausting discourse but I literally have seen zero promo for it. The only reason I Even know it exists is because I follow a lot of Oscar pundits closely. Would love to be proven wrong tho! Seems like from the reviews it’s well done and I always like to see women led action films

I doubt it’s going to make more than 12 million but it won’t flop.
It was excellent btw.

The action is excellent and beautiful. But it is not the main focus of the movie. I loved the characters and themes. And I know it’s cheesy, but I teared up at the end seeing all women’s names for director, writers, cinematography, editing, even most of the producers at the end. I didn’t realize the impact that would have just seeing the names come up on screen.

I think they will give it the biggest award campaign they’ve ever done. It is the clear front runner right now, Michelle Yeoh has a ton of goodwill in the industry, and people love a “little movie that could” type narrative.

nah i agree, theyd be way too dumb not to campaign properly. i would like to even think michelle yeoh would get a nom even if they didnt make a huge push just cuz like you said yeoh has a lot of goodwill in the industry and i also feel like shes been keeping her name afloat throughout the year. like casting announcements and trailers of other projects upcoming. even if everything everywhere came out in march, she hasnt been radio silent forgotten about.
