He included a video to Variety that Wilde allegedly sent him on Aug. 19, 2020, two days after he claimed he quit. In the video, Wilde is driving a car and says she is “not ready to give up on this yet.” She also alludes to tension between LaBeouf and Florence Pugh, who stars in the film as Alice, the wife of LaBeouf and Styles’ character Jack.

“I feel like I’m not ready to give up on this yet, and I too am heartbroken and I want to figure this out,” she says in the video. “You know, I think this might be a bit of a wake-up call for Miss Flo, and I want to know if you’re open to giving this a shot with me, with us. If she really commits, if she really puts her mind and heart into it at this point and if you guys can make peace - and I respect your point of view, I respect hers - but if you guys can do it, what do you think? Is there hope? Will you let me know?”

I actually feel SUPER bad for Florence here. He has a long track record of harassing women which includes targeting his female co-stars. Didn't he himself say that Mia Wasikowska was on the phone begging her agent to do something because she was scared of him and most of their scenes were together on the set of Lawless?

I don't know if the stuff of FKA twigs being scared of him on their publicity tour was out there when Olivia cast him but the stuff with Mia and his problems physically attacking Tom Hardy were 100% public and it seems like Florence was already uncomfortable with him from he jump. :/

i don't doubt shia was an absolute menace to florence and she felt unprotected and unsafe. which is why olivia saying to shia that this is a "wake-up call" for florence is insane

Read the whole thing and now I don't know what to think. Olivia said what she said but he came with receipts. Yes, Shia is a shitty, manipulative person (as evidenced by him being all about the Catholic Church after Twigs put him on blast) but if she fired him so she could hire Harry that's kinda :/

On the other hand, I can see his energy being too much for any director to deal with, sooo....

thnak you for saying this. as someone who grew up catho and has lots of trauma bc of the church, seeing all these cathos welcome him, disregarding his violent past is.....not surprising to me bc that's literally the source of my religious trauma, the catholic church ignoring violent abuse.
