Because of the kooky wardrobe styling of the characters, I've been thinking this show is based in the 70s or 80s and this school just got a cool liberal guidance counselor who's been teaching them the most transformative things about sex education in a more "conservative" time period. But I just found out this show is actually based in present day. Huh.

I think it’s just based in some sort of nowhere time. Like they say it’s based on a modern environment but the mashup of aesthetics from different eras sort of just makes it a unique time period that’s neither here nor there.
