I feel like they always chose the easy way out that costs the least amount of money? They could've done so much more. We really are the dumbest species alive.

it matters when its decipherable. It matters considerably less when it's mostly you interpreting through your own very idiosyncratic lens because you're just looking at text.

And thrown for a loop? You’re giving yourself a lot of credit there.
Not really, you literally said I went "too far" like I personally insulted you. I'm willing to bet that even now you couldn't explain to me what limit you think was set, how I exceeded it, and why that limit should generally apply.

Considering how much commenters here constantly comment to you about how you're a tone-deaf asshole, I guess that's your reflection you're seeing.

What?? When have commenters been saying that? I’m serious. Are you mistaking me for someone else? Idek the last time I argued with someone on here… This is one of the most recent threads I’ve been apart of.

You don't remember the myriad times people make a pun of your handle? Well, if you actually want an answer, I'll see if I remember in a couple days when I have hours to spend going through your comments.

Ok I don’t even know you but clearly you do not like me. Take the time if you want but if you wanna go all personal and shit I’m just gonna get a mod. This is ridiculous.

love are you unaware of your own comments?

You said:
"When have commenters been saying that? I’m serious" to which I responded as above.

None of which is any more personal than:

"But I’ll give it you that you seem smart so thanks for at least proving my point that smart people can still be assholes."

Thanks for proving my point that you can dish but you can't take.

quote me where I said I wanted to find something further to attack you. quote me. explain how "if I remember and you want me to, sure" is not a response to "when have people done that?" you gotta stop this karen behavior.

from what i read, apparently if they tried to move her they risked stressing her out to the point where she might starve herself like another walrus recently did when it was transported from finland, also as a public threat. that walrus slowly wasted away and they didn't want that to happen to freya. supposedly.

i don't know much about walruses but i wonder why it wasn't possible to lead her out to different waters by creating a trail of food.

this is so fucked up though and the officials who made this choice are now facing the backlash from it, as they should.

seems like a reach to base this on just one example + not to even try and act like it was the best option

Idk much about walruses either but they clearly build up enormous amounts of fat and store it. How long did they watch this supposed other walrus before she “wasted away” exactly? I need proof.

The Finland walrus was in the country for around 4 to 5 days. She beached 2 times and then swam inland up a river and ended up on land eating someone's blueberry bushes. She was starving before she got to Finland. She had to get past Denmark and all that first. They waited until the very last moment to try and move her to the wildlife hospital but putting her under was a gamble and it was that or euthanise then and there. Her photos are super sad, she clearly had no fat when she first turned up.

But why couldn't they just close off the area(s)? When covid hit, we couldn't go anywhere or the police would've been on your ass. So why couldn't they do that here as well?? It's always the easiest, cheapest solution they go for & it doesn't matter if it's actually the best.

Tbh I still feel like moving her and possibly stressing her out was still the best option. Yes it might've ended drastically but she had a chance then, now she's just dead and she couldn't do anything about it. ☹️ They also could've kept her in captivity to make sure she's doing okay for then to release her again. I think a lot of animals being set free again usually do make it!

It's a sad situation, breaks my heart.

definitely. it was at the very least worth a try to move her. dart her, load her, and move her somewhere safe.

it's also what should have been done with luna the orca before our stupidity also killed him.
