My euphoria/crazy phase was during college and Erasmus, not high school, I feel that was way better, since you’re older and a little bit more “mature”.
Tho I had a resurgence of those times during my adult life while living in Japan, minus the drugs for obvious reasons lol

Euphoria's strength lays in the actors' performances, the soundtrack and the visuals. Take all of that away and it's another teen drama series. But with the self proclaimed "visionary director" you get the edgiest shit that a rich straight white man can jerk off onto a laptop.

It's trash with a veneer of arty prettiness and faux concern for real world teens. The show runner deserves criticism and I've no doubt that in 5 to 10 years, the horror stories will come out. But adult viewers acting like they watch this for anything but concern porn or wish fulfillment nostalgia, is hilarious to me. Especially the ones who say how horrible they think that show runner is. This show disappearing and all the young lead actors getting to work in less exploitative opportunities coming out if their exposure would be the best outcome, in my opinion.

I love how you managed to put into words exactly how I feel about that show. I only made it an episode in before I was like, "well, this is sleazy and exploitive as fuck," and stopped watching. It's a gross show, and I quietly judge the people that defend / actually claim to enjoy it.

There's already been some revelations about what happened behind the scenes on the Skins set IIRC. I'm still waiting for the full exposé.

Most the girls have spoken about their experiences. What I wouldn’t give for a full “oral history” type thing

I’ve always had a soft spot for Kaya maybe because of this character (Effy Stonem was IT! to my lil awkward ass), I even loved her in the Skins Fire episode and have seen some terrible movies she was in

I didn't want to be Effy because I wanted to be Cassie ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
