Do you mean his choice in movies or how he talks? Because this post is about how people talk.

Funnily enough it took me 2 rewatches of Gone Baby Gone because I couldn't for the life of me understand Casey Affleck's speech patterns the first time lol.

Yeah I remember the first time I watched Inception in theaters I was like leaning into the screen trying to understand him lol.

hardy can enunciate well when he wants to (inception) but he chooses A LOT of roles where he can do his mumble and grunt acting (taboo, the drop, mad max, legend, tdkr, the revenant, lawless, peaky blinders).

i used to think he was a good actor, but looking at the list above shows he definitely plays a lot of the same characters.

Yep! He knows exactly what he's doing.

The fact he doesn't even try says so much about him. Fuck that.

I watch with subtitles too. I tend to be a passive watcher and subs help to catch me up with what's going on.

My brain thinks and wanders a lot even when I watch shows. A few times I have to put on subtitles and rewind scenes for my brain to process what people say.

My brain is bad at deciphering spoken words when people speak fast, but it reacts too quickly to unfinished sentences. I have to write notes to myself to "slow down my mind and listen", and be an active listener.

This is why I don't like talking on the phone for work. People who speaks fast, please learn to speak slower for other people.

I have hearing loss in one ear and I love a subtitle. My neighbors probably do too, keeps me from getting that volume super high.

I wish my coworker from London had subtitles because I truly cannot understand him on Zooms.
