Man, Isaac does not fuck around when it comes to protecting children. This was a pretty great episode.

I have mixed feelings about Clyden leaving.

Yeah, Chad is such a great actor, but they never seemed interested in making Klyden anything more than the close-minded bigoted foil to, well, everyone else.

This episode fucked me up. I was like this for most of it:

Chad IS great. But I'm also kind of upset that we have some "villains" (for lack of a better word) that become more entrenched in their beliefs instead of more tolerant. I wanted to see Clyden learn and grow from his experiences, not just *get worse.* Or maybe I'm just upset that Teleya will be the same way even though I love her and don't want her to be like that 😢

I agree, there wasn't any nuance in his characterization. I think maybe if we'd had some kind of conversation or attempt at bonding with Topa based on their forced gender conversations, with maybe Klyden just being incapable or unwilling to address his trauma & repressed self-loathing - like a verbalization of that by him, would have been more interesting than just have him call everything/everyone abominations.

I got teary eyed this ep. My fave by far! Peter and Adrianne were both amazing; so well acted.

This was great. I do wish we got something less yelly from Kylden but that's really the only flaw. The kid who played Topa really carried this.

The kid who played Topa really carried this.

She was incredible at displaying so much emotional range in one hour, from making you feel the full weight of Topa's despair to her joy and sense of peace at the end.

I thought the same about Kylden just being yelly all the time, but at the same time I feel like he is very much a reflection on modern times of the people that rather yell about change, than change or hear anything other than they want to hear or believe. The personification of someone that fell for the Trump and Fox News shenanigans types.
