I have mixed feelings about Clyden leaving.

Yeah, Chad is such a great actor, but they never seemed interested in making Klyden anything more than the close-minded bigoted foil to, well, everyone else.

This episode fucked me up. I was like this for most of it:

They finally gave Peter some good fucking food this season. He was incredible, and I love that he got so many scenes with Adrianne and that she's been such a consistent part of Topa's arc.

You can tell it's a Seth episode because he always puts his musicals in there somehow. The orchestral version of You'll Never Walk Alone was gorgeous.

Chad IS great. But I'm also kind of upset that we have some "villains" (for lack of a better word) that become more entrenched in their beliefs instead of more tolerant. I wanted to see Clyden learn and grow from his experiences, not just *get worse.* Or maybe I'm just upset that Teleya will be the same way even though I love her and don't want her to be like that 😢

I agree, there wasn't any nuance in his characterization. I think maybe if we'd had some kind of conversation or attempt at bonding with Topa based on their forced gender conversations, with maybe Klyden just being incapable or unwilling to address his trauma & repressed self-loathing - like a verbalization of that by him, would have been more interesting than just have him call everything/everyone abominations.
