Parts of the performances are on CBS's twitter seemingly without geoblock

We now feel a fire burning in our hearts thanks to this jaw-dropping @ParadiseSquare performance at the #TonyAwards. ❤️‍🔥 pic.twitter.com/qJAcBMbdeC

that Music Man performance was so…bland.

The Spring Awakening cast still sounds amazing. Though I wonder if CBS had a hand in picking Touch Me, since it's Skylar Astin's biggest solo in the show and he has a show on CBS this fall. He stood out in his sparkly tux (and got the literal spotlight).

honestly if the camera would've stayed on him during his actual solo i would've been happier. watching the reunion its def the one where i was like 'oh shit that IS the same person I thought it was'. they even did the little curl in front.

Last night I was a little disappointed with them picking "Touch Me" for the Spring Awakening performance, but I have since done a complete 180 on that opinion. It was a good choice to set it apart from their first Tony performance + the Deaf West performance a few years back, and I love all the layered vocals. I've rewatched the video a few times now - they sound so good.

My fave performances were Spring Awakening and Company. A Strange Loop and Six sounded good, too, but I don't feel like either of those cast recordings are going to stick with me in the same way.

The Music Man was lackluster as hell, but I wonder if it's in part because Hugh was sick. I sure hope he isn't a super-spreader.

I will say on rewatch I thought JGJ was a little nervous but he and Groff's voices blend sooo well. Will they ever work together again? Probably not but damn ... I wish.

are they not friends?

Oh they very much are, they just seem to pursue very different projects! Also JGJ has an amazing voice but to me it's definitely more of that raspy rock sort of voice (American Idiot) that isn't SUPER musical-y and Groff definitely has that style (even with the spitting lol), I'm sure they'd act together but I think it'd have to be a special musical for them to be successful opposite each other.

If they did a film or series together that'd be amazing. They've both worked for pretty big name Hollywood people (Sorkin/Fincher) but again, not normally either of their bags.
