Next up on Variety’s Actors on Actors: Viola Davis and Samuel L. Jackson. The interview started out with him asking her about seeing herself on billboards for some reason.

I love her, and I know she is a talented actress with such a background. I know who we're talking about here, but she really served us with this MadTV sketch. I would honestly pay to see her go more comedy. I really want Fast & Furious to happen. If Dame Judy did, why not her? The stencil eyebrows remind me of that White woman at the White House who during 45's presidency that someone made an avatar here. 💀

VIOLA DAVIS: I don’t see that as myself. I see it as something else. Michelle Obama, the other Viola Davis. I don’t marry the two because otherwise it’s too difficult.

I've got it! Their daughter suddenly calls off her destination wedding in the Bahamas/Bora Bora, wherever tropical. Worried parents try to figure out what could have gone wrong. Cue bickering over which parent she takes after when it comes to commitment issues.
Only, shock! Surprise! Daughter just decided she wanted more freedom years - no cheating, no fights, just not ready to settle down. No drama.
Parents meanwhile are surrounded by a tropical setting and are stuck with each other and their happier memories.
Can someone who knows how to write a script please make this happen?

They’re always like, “Viola, you just don’t play the romantic leads.” I said, “Listen, I would play the romantic lead if I got the romantic lead.” But I didn’t, so I made do with what I got.
Sigh. This is too real in the film and theatre industry. They just refuse to cast dark skin Black women as romantic leads unless she's being cheated on/abused.
