Yesterday, during the Platinum Jubilee parade or something, Prince Louis, age 4, had a tantrum on live television. He could be seen covering mom Kate's mouth, sticking his tongue out and pouting. Apparently, Kate eventually took him for a time out and he ( Read more... )

Maybe it's because I'm on UK twitter but I saw way more tweets supporting Kate and Louis and just saying that he's a normal 4yo. I can't imagine how dull this was for him.

Although you know if this was Harry and Meghan's kids, a certain demographic of UK twitter would be criticising their parenting.

And if people did that with Harry and Meghan's children, they should be called out as well. Children are children and it's ridiculous for anyone's parenting or child's health to be called into question for ten seconds of interaction, you know?

Calling Kate a bad mom or Louis a brat is insane lol

Yeah, I didn't see any negative tweets about it, I saw people thinking it was hilarious.

but I saw soooo many critical posts going "well if this was ARCHIE yall would be so mad" and it's like, yes and it'd be just as shitty? how is it any better that you're doing it though?

I'm on US twitter and there were thinkpieces galore. Basically that kid is raised by nannies, barely knows his parents, probably has ADHD, has no respect for his elders and is likely to grow up a delinquent and/or serial killer, if the ever trustworthy internet experts are to be believed (and they got massive likes for that crap, so that wasn't just isolated idiots). It was ridiculous and I barely saw people calling them out either!

Not even surprised by the pathetic, over the top reactions. There's nothing people love more than criticizing women.

I hate when the internet makes me do something like defend the royals.

He is a toddler and anywhere you take a toddler there is a risk of meltdown, this is hardly any indication of anything other than him being a child.

You're defending a child. Be proud of that.

lol it t was a a 3 hour long pageant and Louis is 4 years old. Anyone who thinks that Louis acting up is evidence of anything other than being a bored or cranky pre-schooler is just reaching for reasons to say Kate and Will are bad parents.

Add to this: I've taken my toddler places he has been STOKED to be and he still had an overstimulation meltdown.

Kids are gonna kid!

My 3 yo niece is obsessed marine animals and can even name multiple types of jellyfish.

My brother and SIL took a recent visit to Corpus Christi and took her to the massive state aquarium where she spent the whole day excitedly calling out the names of sea animals in-between screaming tantrums. Poor baby was super overstimulated by the whole thing.

Toddlers are exhausting when you're the one in charge of them, but vvvvv funny as an onlooker.

This doesn't even look like a tantrum to me, he looks like any bored 4-year-old would at this kind of event. And listen, I am no fan of the royal family, but it generally appears to me that Kate does a really good job handling her kids in public - not overreacting, calmly correcting behavior, getting down on their level, etc.

Yeah the fact that we don’t see any handlers for the kids out in public besides their parents is kind of impressive when you think of how many rich people pass the even the basics off to nannies. Like Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner couldn’t even push their own stroller on a walk lmao

Not having the nannies around for public events isn’t impressive, it’s all for optics.

might also be for security/privacy? so we dont see who their entire team of nannies are and they're less easy to spot in public.
