The plot seems to be "10 years later (and now living in the suburbs) Giselle is questioning if she's really happy, she makes an impulsive wish for life to be like a fairy tale & things in the real world and the fairy tale world she's from go awry."
So not throwing out what happened, exactly.
I've seen some tweets from people who don't like the idea of Giselle questioning her life but idk, a former fairy tale princess questioning whether real life is just too shitty after spending years in the suburbs is fine by me.

It's oddly realistic in a way. Many women have the "fairy tale" romance with a man, a big dream wedding, then 10 years later look around at their lives and wonder if they're really happy.
i honestly think it's because studios think it's a "women's" thing and that people won't notice or care. a horrible wig can be so distracting in a movie. if the film ends up making millions though, they're not going to shell out $100k+ in wigs when they can clearly spend around $20k and it works out fine. they also need extra employees for wigs specifically.

I did not like the first movie. I feel like everybody loves it but I hated the romance plot.
