i'm excited to watch the sequel (assuming it will be shown in 3d) with my contacts in lol. i only got contacts in the last few years, so when i saw avatar (as well as every other 3d movie ever) i was layering the theater glasses over my big ass boxy emo frame prescription glasses which sucked

I've never seen this film. I think I watched about 10 min and wasn't grabbed. And everyone joked that it was just Fern Gully/Pocahontas so I never bothered trying again.

Should I check it out? I remember people saying that it was something that needed to be experienced in a movie theater b/c it was so beautiful.

it is a beautiful film, but watching it on TV works too. if you're into movies that create their own world, this is a great movie.

You'de be better off watching a videogame with a more entertaining storyline tbh lol I get that this film was a hit and there are some incredible visuals but it completely lacks heart. It's the film version of great gowns, beautiful gowns.

he said recently that all of the stories he wants to tell he can tell through the avatar universe. honestly he's obsessed, he'd done like tolkien levels of worldbuilding.

I’m not a fan either, but just the recent re-release in China made a lot of money. It barely has a cultural footprint (and is there even a fandom as such?), but for some reason it makes money. The new one will as well, I’m sure.
