She's right and she should say it. People who create hostile environments for their targets and run them out of their industry - on purpose or by making it too toxic to stay - have canceled more careers than any twitter mob.

I remember watching of a video of this guy complaining that Brett Kavanagh was 'canceled' because of the rape allegations against him and I practically screamed and broke my television.
Yeah, the guy with a lifetime appointment on the highest court in the land is 'canceled' but not the woman who's had to move several times due to the death threats she's received just for speaking out...
Miss me with that bullsh*t

Yep. Comedy scenes, religious communities, political groups (right or left)... I honestly can't think of an exception to this dynamic of the victim getting ostracized, no matter what principles the group purports to hold.

The rare exception (like literally 1) I've seen is in academia. It's because the person harassed a white woman who is way more popular. The harasser is still around, though.

What gets me is that in all the things I can think of on a personal level, it isn't just the perpetrator at fault. A fuck ton of people, who know better, enable the perpetrator. It's disgusting, because they continue on as business as usual. Like they don't have to go HAM but they don't have to celebrate the perpetrator either.

And then ignorant folks will have the audacity to ask why the survivor “took so long to say something” as if it isn’t a huge life altering risk to speak up. In certain spaces, you’re likely to face more consequences than the perpetrator, the revictimization just keeps going.
