Surprised that there aren't union issues with this, tbh! Cool that the show could go on, though!

I've mentioned it before, but I have tickets to this production and am debating on returning them (allowed rn bc of COVID, I guess) because the reviews have been really bad. :/ I'd normally just risk it but tickets were expensive! I liked Sam Gold's Othello with Craig + David Oyelowo, but everyone's like "that's the last good play he directed!!" so idk.

It’s happened a couple of times before, where a non-actor has to cover a role; last year, the playwright for Thoughts of a Colored Man, Keenan Scott II, had to step in for multiple shows.

Someone said they thought the witches were making tacos in one review I saw on BroadwayWorld lmao. It was so cringe-sounding.

Gee its almost like our current set up of attempting normalcy in a pandemic isn’t working out.

I would be interested to know how they’re filtering and ventilating the air in various theatres.

I know at least some theaters installed new HVAC systems and air filters, but idk about all of them.

Broadway theaters still have vax + mask requirements, plus they're still doing regular testing on performers. They are getting rid of the vax requirement starting in May, though.

That’s good to hear about some theatres doing those kinds of upgrades, cleaning the air is the only way out of this.

I attended Moulin Rouge! on Broadway about a month ago & it was worth the risk for me (required proof of vaccination and a mask to enter, and I was in an n95 the whole time) but like... those theaters are small and tightly packed, this is zero surprise. I really hope more protections will be put in place regarding ventilation etc.

They’re dropping vax requirements after this month so I doubt there will be anything else put in place :/

I hate this. Glad I went when I did. It's insane to keep dropping requirements.

Moulin Rouge in Chicago was canceled last night, but they were able to fly in actors from other companies so it was able to continue today.
