Director Sam Gold took the stage Thursday night to fill in for an actor during a performance of Macbeth. He played Lennox and another small role in the sold out performance after all the understudies were already used up.
The show also ran into trouble earlier this month when the play’s star, Daniel Craig, tested positive for COVID two hours before preview performances were set to begin.
