I long for the day the x is removed. I don't mind individuals using it but as a whole....good luck with that!

Same, I hate that this became a thing when it doesn't even make sense in spanish.

I've even heard people say latin-x so yeah, it's sticking around :/

Tbh I feel like a lotttt of people, esp Americans not from those cultures, think everyone who speaks Spanish and/or has an accent goes under the same umbrella and that's it. :\

Ya this chick I no longer talk to used to lure me and her Mexican husband into arguments by proclaiming “Spanish is so easy” blah blah blah. We’d be like, it’s actually hard especially grammatically. She couldn’t speak Spanish at all and she’d make fun of his accent. Yes she was white and her whole identity was consumerism so no surprises there

It's utterly shitty to make fun of your accent, but Spanish is fairly easy, including grammatically, like, see this list for English speakers: https://vividmaps.com/language-difficulty-rankings/

I'd say that Italian, which is in the same category, has more difficult grammar.

i was def looking for rosalia but tbh i think her appropriation rankles latines, not anyone outside of the culture (because they can't tell the difference/don't care to tell the difference, see... the other spaniards in your post lmao. right on the money)
