Is anyone else having any issues with the subtitles? I started watching the first episode and it was as if the subtitles were appearing well after the dialogue and disappearing almost immediately. It seems more than just being out of sync, but my internet is working fine and I would really prefer not to watch the dubbed version.

Loved this book so much, but the whole tumblr scandal really turned me off--for others who have read the book and loved it too, is this show worth the watch?

I started watching before I learned about the creep lead and was put off by some plot decisions. The scene of Sunja’s birth especially felt very heavy handed, like THIS IS YOUR FATE, which kind of goes against the pachinko metaphor of life and chance in the book. I did love the opening credit sequence, though.

I finished the book last month and began watching the show. I love the book, and as someone above me said, I'm side-eyeing some of the plot decisions.

Nevertheless, the filmography is beautiful and I still say watch the show.

I'm enjoying this a lot. The cinematography and directing is really good. The scenes in the past are so much more interesting though. It's hard for me to pay attention to Solomon's story.

The actor who plays Isak is so hot.
