I can't believe ABC is willing to put Tyra as the host of DWTS. ANTM was such a cesspool and it has aged like milk.

this is an awful story :/

Considering how exploitative both this show and Tyra's talk show were, it's crystal clear that she is just a horrible person

Can you even imagine being so fucking evil? Like what made her this way tbh? Was Naomi THAT mean to her in the 90’s!?

Maybe Naomi was but Tyra wasn’t so far behind her then.

Idk much about their feud but from that episode on Tyra's show where she invited Naomi to talk only to spend the entire time putting her on trial is nagl.

Naomi handled it extremely well and it's clear that she's been going to therapy because given what the media and Tyra have been spinning about her, Naomi came off pretty reasonable. She brought up pretty valid criticisms about the industry's toxicity and racism in pitting her and Tyra against each other. Tyra sounded like she was expected to be babied and personally mentored by Naomi just because they're they only Black girls in the industry but Naomi came off like she didn't want to be anything more than acquaintances (which is fine) but Tyra took it personally. Tyra aggressively victimized herself all the way through and didn't want to listen to Naomi's POV at all even though Naomi seemed to want to reach some sort of middle ground in the sense that yes, she could have been nicer to Tyra but that she was also entitled to not want to be BFFs despite the industry's meddling.

I knew she was supposed to be the winner and that they took it from her because of her past but jfc, they knew about it beforehand! Wow. Thanks for the summary.

this is so frightening, i'm glad miss 716 is in a better place now. from the youtube/ig chats over the past couple of years, i always thought that she and krista had a falling out bc krista 'tattling' on her being an escort (or something like that), but this makes it really clear now. i'm glad she was able to get out.

also FUCK tyra and the rest of production for doing nothing.

They should have helped her succeed, not destroy her. I think I dropped ANTM shortly after this happened, because it was clear that the contestants weren’t going to make it unless they lost, and the winners that did have something special would flounder under poor management. (And many that made it past auditions were just… not it to begin with.)
