I'm afraid to watch because I know it'll start something I don't want to deal with right now (or ever) but I admire her strength an her vulnarability, and the way she stands for other people

I'd hoped that this was on NOWTV in the UK (as they pick up things from HBO) but no luck.

Really looking forward to seeing it when it comes, which feels like an odd statement to make. Evan was one of the interviewees on a Child Star documentary that Alex Winter directed, and she came across really eloquently and seemed to only scratch the surface on her family issues. It sounded like her parents encouraged her to work her arse off, and she did take up risque roles when she was still young (like the one where she was the love interest to Edward Norton).

Wish her the best in life.

That movie with Ed Norton was so creepy, she was like 15 and he was approaching 40 and the age difference was never really addressed? Like even when her dad disapproved of the relationship it was for other reasons. Bizarre film.

Totally bizarre. It was bad as I was younger than Evan and had a wee crush on Ed, so I just thought she was the special ~old soul~ character who the older man saw the potential of before anyone else. But now just creepy.

It's wild how many films there are like that, but it's defo odd that it wasn't addressed.

I hope this does tremendously well. I can't watch it myself for Reasons, but I want nothing but good things for this woman, she's been through so much.

I want nothing but the best for her and I want MM to face justice and go to prison for the rest of his life.

Did they address the custody thing with Jamie Bell at all? I'm really curious if he's a pos too.

She talked about Jamie a little bit but she didn’t mention the custody issue or what he said about it/her re:MM ( ... )

I looked for his comments but couldn't find anything from him. Only articles related to ERW and the threats her son got from BW. What did Jamie said?

From ERW's wikipedia page, they quote Jamie as saying (re: custody battle): Bell responded by saying that Wood's "story defies credibility", and accused her of "withholding our son from me for other reasons of her own invention

in "The Cut"'s new interview with her, ERW was quoted as saying Jamie has been the least supportive of her throughout all of this.

I will watch it, because I want to support the survivors, and because I want HBO and all the other streaming platforms to continue to give voice to victims of abuse.

But I know it's gonna be hard to watch. The Allen v Farrow documentary was so depressing and I couldn't stop thinking about it for several weeks. I keep crying because my bff had a similar experience when she was a kid. The damage and trauma this abuse creates, can not be overlooked anymore.
I made every man in my life watch it too. Education around these cases is so important.

Evan is an inspiration and I wish nothing but the best for her.

Same. The Brittany Murphy doc wasn’t as heavy but I was crying at times because she isn’t alive to be able to tell her own story.
