Pokémon Scarlet and Violet Announced

Game Freak just revealed the newest generation of Pokémon this morning called Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. While mainly just the graphics and vistas was showcased in the trailers it was revealed that the newest region is based off of Spain/Iberian Peninsula as well showing off the starters for the first time. idk how i feel about gen 9 coming out so soon, especially because arceus was such a welcome spin on things and a separate team would be working on scarlet/violet so who knows what will actually be implemented from those games. hope a lot of the quality of life changes there are still kept here (catching pokemon in the overworld, seamless battle transitions, etc.)

I can't believe they're releasing a mainline game so soon. I guess it's not that soon after Sw/Sh but I thought Legend Arceus would give them a buffer. I certainly didn't think they'd release news about it on a Sunday!

Was trying to figure out what region this was based on and I got Spain/Iberian peninsula vibes or it's Italian based, or combo. The names are making me think that's right

sprigatitio is cute, quaxly can die in a fire i hate duck pokemon so much. Also they should have based it off central/south america they can dig into aztec, mayan etc lore. Like spain literally has no lore besides being colonizers lol
