I've become a bit too drained for this sort of content. I couldn't get myself to watch more than 2 episodes of the woody allen documentary either. :/ I hope for some people these docs can make them realize their long time favs / icons are not worth the pedestal.

yeah, i want to watch it because i would watch reruns of his show on repeat as a kid and thought it was so funny but i just don't know if i can stomach these shows anymore. it's just too much emotionally :( i'm glad it exists though.

wasn't it because he gave the incriminating deposition after the DA said it wouldn't be used against him and then when a new DA got the job they thought "well he didn't make a deal with me" and used it as evidence which then a judge later overturned as unlawful

like the whole thing was fucked by the DA. I feel bad for the victims given false hope he would be held accountable

essentially yeah. she breaks it down in the video more about whether that was a reasonable expectation or not

And she said they probably could've tried to retry the case omitting that incriminating statement he made but they just didn't

i'm about rudy's age. the cosby show was everything to me growing up. i'm just so saddened by what was happening behind the scenes. The doc sounds intense. I wish I had showtime. I still can't believe the sentence was overturned.

I like what bell had to say here, though: "The big thing about this film and the work that I do now is it’s more than the conversation. 'What are we going to do from having had the conversation?'"

Nah, I'm good. I didn't think he was funny back in the 70s but The Cosby Show was a great gift and "A Different World" was great so that legacy is all I care about, to me it isn't compex. He deserves all the pain and denigration and prison sentences for his decades of rape. I've seen enough of him and don't need to think about him further.
