Fill the government with progressives and then maybe I'll be proud of this country

Biden dangling student loan forgiveness as an incentive for midterms to go well is I hope going to make him a one-term president

with the caveat that he's one-term because he's primaried by someone better or just decides to call it a day after the one.

How is a govt full of progressives evev supposed to happen, given how the scared White majority is trying desperately to hold on to power and influence? Where even so-called allies remain on the sidelines apathetically?

As much as I support my Berns, I don't even know if Bernie could have saved this shit as prez. They would have fought him on everything. But Biden is so fucking spineless. Harris is useless.

God, I would have rather had Liz Warren up there scolding the fuck out of everyone everyday. IDK.

The Dems are just so .....spineless. You have two asshats that really GOP'ers ruining everything and you can't get them in line. I'll give the GOP one credit, even though it's horrible, they fucking tow the party line. We can't even get all the Dems together. It's so frustrating.

If the Jan 6th committee doesn't publicly reveal some damning shit from not only GOP Senator/Reps up to the WH and Botulism Tang himself, I don't even know... I really worry what is going to happen in this upcoming election.

That's because it's easy to tow the Republican party line. Republican voters don't care if abortion get banned when they're pro-choice/ambivalent but only want tax breaks. They don't care about immigrant camps when they're living in Nebraska but only want trans and gay people to have no rights. They don't care about environmental protections being stripped when they believe climate change is real but only Confederate statues preserved and CRT "removed from the classroom."

Most of all, what helps is that their policy platform is profitable for the wealthy and keeps them that way. It's much harder to get support from pay-to-play politicians who are in corporate pockets or are just plain rich themselves.

I agree completely. Their way is easy because they give zero shits unless it affects they money/power. And poor GOP dumbfucks follow along because they're racist/homophobic and want to control women, etc.

I just can't understand when we have voting rights on the line, people like Sinema will passionately speak about protecting the fucking filibuster which is not in the Constitution and we don't need it...but voting, our right... well, fuck that if we can't appease enough GOP to make it pass. When they are gerrymandering everything to hell and basically want state electors to be able to overturn the will of the majority voters.

Things we need to pass, Dems are arguing about. Just get this shit done and stop squabbling over the petty shit. We don't have the supermajority (which Dems also fucked away) during Obama's first 2 years where people like Manchin and Sinema wouldn't matter but this 50/50 shit is just killing everything.

I can't help my frustration.

Biden renewed a free program to feed needy kids. Most states haven’t even applied. https://t.co/I60Oh4YRg7

Not being Trump is pretty much the only selling point.

The stimulus payments, local aid, and child tax creditss are why the US economy has recovered better than most countries, is iirc the only g7 country with positive gdp growth, and lifted millions of children out of poverty. It's why what Manchin and Sinema have done is so unconscionable. It's ended, and there's going to be economic consequences, but the American Rescue Plan was something meaningful. They've dropped the ball since, aided by "centrists" in the media making up shit about how helping people is overheating the economy ( ... )
