It takes a village to raise a kid, and having help all under the same roof, that’s part of the family just makes sense.

People grow up in these individualistic cultures that kick you out at 18 and don't realize that no, some families support each other for the long run. And this is such a sad situation, why would they not want a boy to know his mother's family?

this type of north-americanized way of raising kids is so fucking toxic and detrimental to growth in so many ways. my sons stay home, even the one in the military, as long as they want to. all that's required is respect for each other. we're not fucking birds lol, we don't need to kick those babies out to learn to fly. we stay home and build up those motherfucking muscles, preen those feathers, make those little bitches fly higher.

this "culture" irks my ass.

It's just too easy to @ celebs and people really don't think about what they're saying.

the thing about the judgment she got, even taking out the grieving the whole family was going through, is that I doubt Naya would want people to have been dragging her sister in any capacity but especially as she choosing to raise Naya's son during such a crucial time. Like, how selfish and insensitive to do that

Romantic, platonic or just familial it's not our business and I am very glad Josey has as many people as possible around that deeply love him as they all grieve her loss and help raise him. Like god forbid anything ever happen to my brother but if he had a child and my niece or nephew asked me to move in with him and his mom I would literally drop everything and do it.

it takes a lot of grace from all adults involved to alter the trajectories of their lives to make and execute decisions just to give that kid the best possible situation and support system.

there are so many parents out there that don’t even prioritize their own children’s wants/needs like this and here nickayla is doing it for her nephew and is being met with hate. it’s absolute bullshit.
