But the first post that I do remember is one about 30 seconds to mars called '30 seconds to barf' that has stood out in my mind from back in the day

I've been here since 2005 and it was probably through LJ's homepage, so I can't think of any one post that made me join up. But I've stayed because the vibe here reminds me of the early internet, where people largely stayed anonymous yet still felt comfortable enough to share bits and pieces about themselves. It was definitely rough in the late 2000s-mid 2010s, especially with how much toxic shit that was posted, but ONTD has stepped up as a community to become one of the safer spaces online for me.

Thank you to everyone who continues to make posts for us to glomp onto. :) I'm hoping to join the fray soon after being a lurker for so long.

I have absolutely no idea. How long has ONTD been around, since 1999? I feel like I’ve been posting here every once in awhile for 15 years or more.

It looks like my LJ account was created in Dec 2005 so I assume I ended up at ONTD sometime in 2006 or 2007. The old days of livejournal are still my favorite time in social media.

The first thing I really remember at ONTD is Heath Ledger’s death and the Dark Knight posts, but I think I was already around some before that.

But I’ve never been a real regular poster here. Just now and then.

Same. I had been commenting to posts on LJ with an Open-Id thing since like 2009. ONTD was one of those things that people talked about & I never really paid much attention to. I'd look at the frond page of posts once ever couple of years.

But in 2016 (Aug. I think) I joined. Even though I still had the Open-Id thing & not an account. I just put in my request that I had been around a while or something. I commented in a couple of posts & got a few "Who the f*ck are you?" replies (because the name comes up different for the Open-Id thing) so i upgraded to a free account.

This account is from 2006 and I think I actually joined with one of my older accounts before that.

It must have been through either kittyradio or the Bjork/garbage/no doubt forums.

Those were the days, when each band had their own forum.

Basically, I’m old and can’t remember.
