Infamous Photoshoots: Drew Barrymore for "Playboy" and "Vogue" (An ONTD Original)
It's a double-header of famous photoshoots for the Christmas weekend featuring Drew Barrymore. We will revisit two of her most notorious photoshoots ever: Her 1995 Playboy issue and the Vogue cover that she shot 10 years later.
Drew is one of the very few major Hollywood stars who has posed for Playboy. (Not counting Dolly Parton, of course.) It was 1995. Drew had fallen from grace in the view of the public by attending rehab for her addiction issues at the tender age of 14. While trying to rebuild her career in Hollywood, she could only land roles as a sexy wild-child, like when she portrayed Amy Fisher in the made-for-TV movie The Amy Fisher Story. Her escapades in her private life certainly didn't help. Now 20, she flashed David Letterman on his show and decided to pose for Playboy nude.

Against all odds, Drew managed to make a comeback and win back the graces of mainstream America and the upper echelon of Hollywood. This is likely in great part due to her legacy as a Barrymore and her family's great connections. I mean, Steven Spielberg is her godfather. And her acceptance into the elite world of fashion probably also had to do with her weight loss of around 20 pounds. Either way, in 10 years, Drew had made smashes like Charlie's Angels and 50 First Dates. This means that she also got to pose for high-fashion editorials like this beautiful one from Vogue.

It's kind of stunning that Drew went from the teacher's pet of Hollywood to doing made-for-TV movies to being an A-list Oscar-bait star to having a daytime talk show. Fame is weird, y'all.
