And tbh it happened so quickly live that I couldn't even tell what I was looking at. I just thought she had a pasty on and was like "oh well Lil Kim did this on the red carpet a few years ago nbd". Unless you've got eyes like a hawk or recorded it to rewatch it's not anything was clear enough to warrant the attention it got. The same people who were talking about how ~offensive~ it was were the same people who kept replaying it and blowing it up to be a much bigger deal than it should have been. Janet was done so damn dirty.

Yep. I was watching with my college roommates at the time, and we all thought it was a pasty. It wasn't until the high res screenshots started popping up the next day that we realized otherwise.

i had a full fight with my french teacher the next day at school over this. she was ~mortified and ~scandalized and opened class by talking about what the incident and i was like "eh, it's no big deal. have you ever seen carnaval? americans need to chill" and i struck a nerve, haha.

And all the violence all the time, but not a nipple! I've been watching Better Call Saul and they're allowed two shits or fucks a season, no nudity, but the violence on that show is revolting. The opener kept me from watching it for years bc it has a group of teens rape a corpse head. And they don't even use the word rape! Fucking America
