I only saw the top and bottom looks. I keep missing the drama in the work room.
After that last pairs challenge I haven't really liked Octavio. I do like Katie's prints and color [Spoiler (click to open)]but I'm not sad to see her go. She needs to believe in herself more, which I get is hard and listen to her voice. Maybe change up the silhouette every now and then. I agree with Christian though, she has a market!
I mostly agreed with the judges for the first time this season. I probably would have put Anna in the top for how well her look married with the accessory over Octavio who never pushes his designs.
Also, I was happy that Bones pushed back against the “you don’t know yourself” critique. I think he would know that best. It’s a line designed to make a contestant second guess themselves and he just refused to play that game.
While the dress itself wasn't ground breaking in design, I really liked the way she incorporated her accessories.
I liked that Bones was like "No, I know who I am." I don't always like his designs, but I appreciate that he stood up for himself and basically said, "BITCH, PLEASE."
I liked the winning look, though Prajje’s was a showstopper. Katie realllllllly needs to collab with a gender neutral brand and learn to think outside the clown bib looks and her personal aesthetic. She boxed herself in left and right. You cannot make your looks cool if you do whats comfortable without pushing yourself and your possible clientele. I like paint brush stroke clothes a lot… but damn, her creations always looked like kid clothes.
I like that Katie has her own point of view and aesthetics with the prints but her looks were always the same silouette. And this week with the shoes it felt like a full-on clown outfit unfortunately. Considering it was her 4th or 5th time on the bottom I think it's only fair she got sent home this week...
My major issue with this season is that what we are seeing isn't fashion. We are seeing clothes. These designers aren't creating anything new or unique. Even the very pretty pieces (like what Octavio, Anna, Shantall, and Aaron made this week) are nothing new. They're just pretty. But at least they are making pretty rehashes of existing designs. Some of the other contestants are making ugly/unflattering rehashes

i was also glad bones spoke up. it's a bullshit critique and it was good for him to try to figure out what brandon actually meant by it
