I'm not worried about Scarlett, because she doesn't gaf about a regular folk who'd be in a similar situation. Scarlett only cares about Scarlett. And all these people here saying yeah she's a shitty person, but... No buts. She's a pedophile supporter and a garbage human being who's been going out of her way to show what a shitty person she is. Fuck her.

I hate Scarlett, she's a person with no morals, and so is Disney.
Disney did break their contract, but if it was another woman in Scarlett place I know she wouldn't support her, she probably would support Disney, she's awful awful

lol mte, trickle down feminism is not a thing and Scarlett winning (or not) changes nothing for average women, including the majority of actors, only the 1% who can have back end deals in the first place.

These rich women want women everywhere to rally around their shit but they do nothing for the rest of women, especially woc.

"I do hope that there’s some sort of solution that the larger companies are coming together to keep"

Ha. Because it's larger companies that worry about a diverse field of possibilities and offerings. HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA.

Something people forget: Warner Brothers had this same problem (or something very similar) and you know what they did?

They paid their talent. Went "u right" and gave them the money they probably would have made with a traditional release.

Right?? This case is not that complicated and Disney is so clearly in the wrong.

I'm reminded of how Jim Starlin got paid more for a quick cameo of a lesser known villain he created in the DCEU than for Thanos' entire appearance in the MCU. He's settled with Marvel since then, but it's a constant reminder of how much these companies hate paying their talent, especially it's writers.

I still don't buy the "small" movies argument. If it's good and it's on VOD, word of mouth always gets around. I do feel badly for those who struggle for that initial funding or release, especially diverse/bipoc ones.

The amount of movies that gain new life on VOD is amazing. I'd rather be a cult classic than make a box office hit that temporarily breaks some records. BO records are fleeting.

Movies cost a lot of money to make. I can understand why not too many investors are interested or able to wait years for a project to break even or to be profitable. Maybe you can afford to do one or two of those for the art but at some point you need to make cash, and fast, hence the reliance on theater runs.

I hope all the law suits against Disney go well. Trying to play semantics and find loopholes rather than just paying their talent is bs. If they tried this with Scarjo, they're doing worse with smaller crews and talent. That report on the Pixar crew's pay pretty much confirms this.

Like people mentioned above, other studios renegotiated. People are so focused on this particular lawsuit, they forget there's more than one and other actors are on the fence about doing the same.
