I wonder if they are lowballing the 80 mil figure and are gonna revise upward later? I seem to remember that’s a thing Disney does.

At any rate, love to see that there’s still a demand for theaters.

This weekend, we watched

Sunshine: beautiful cinematography and score, ambitious storytelling, scary!!, but a slightly disappointing third act.

Summer of Soul: excellent quality footage of the 1969 Harlem Cultural Festival combined with a great mix of history and talking heads. Questlove better release some of those sets digitally bc they were 🔥🔥🔥

I watched Hereditary and Uncut Gems...the second movie hardly registered in my mind bc I only watched it to erase Hereditary.

It’s been years and i still can’t get Hereditary out of my mind. It’s like ‘2 Girls 1 Cup’ or ‘Mythagow00ds’ art. Once you see it, it’ll stay in your mind forever.

It was really good tho. Such underrated performances.

I read the synopsis but forgot a lot of the stuff besides the end of the first act. It was more the visuals and history that just scared the hell out of me.

Good for Tree and what this means for women-led MCU movies. I'm guessing that while a lot of people are still not sure of going out to the theater they don't mind getting together with their vaccinated friends. If you have 3-4 friends who wanted to see Black Widow and want to chip in and have a party night that $30 goes down to $7.50 a head which is pretty reasonable on Disney+ and you have your own snacks and don't have to be bothered with other people. It's quite smart, actually.
