lol, I was just working on a post... glad I checked back before I got too far into it!

Jessica Chastain, Marion Cotillard, and Helen Mirren all look fantastic. Can't really see the detailing on Andie MacDowell's dress, but I like that she's letting her hair go gray.

Adam Driver is like a foot taller than everyone else in that Annette pic, lol. The reviews have been so divisive - not sure whether I'll love it or hate it, though I'm worried it will be the latter.

I'm clearly missing some reviews, LOL! I know the first batch that came out from Twitter had a mix, but I've been reading them all day and they're really not all that mixed. It's at 83% on Rotten Tomatoes. The reactions lean towards - dang this is weird, good to WOW, with a few meh. The positive reviews are extremely positive and the could-have-been better still find things to praise, while the (again) few negative ones aren’t ripping it apart. From what I’ve read.

Driver and Russell Mael are giving father and son/Frankenstein and his monster vibes.

FWIW, he sings a single line while coming up for air. No Sparks songs are sung directly into Marion Cotillard’s p-valley https://t.co/rsczmKENVv

the scattered reviews are cracking me up, i love when oscar-baity movies fall apart

I don't think this is Oscar baity at all, tbh. It's a passion project from Sparks that only got off the ground bc of Carax + Driver getting involved, and Carax didn't get any Academy love for Holy Motors even though it got a lot of critical acclaim.

Yeah, Carax is the opposite of Oscar bait. His movies are deliberately unconventional and idiosyncratic; he's closer to being Critic Top Ten List bait.
