You are correct. He has to serve 2/3rds of his sentence (which is about 15 years) before he would be eligible for parole.

Nothing will bring Floyd back and I hurt for his family and loved ones. Chauvin deserved a way longer sentence. I hope they fry him on the tax evasion charges and the civil rights case and then I hope he rots in prison for the rest of his life. Racist subhuman scum.
