What a missed opportunity to have dramatic close ups of other characters.

😂 😂 😂 I have to say though I was borderline amused by the Palpatine energy June was serving.

I mean, they'll look for any excuse to turn her into a community-uterus. a commuterus.

idk about Fred but she is a fertile woman who comitted a serious crime so I can see that as justification. Maybe Fred would get assigned a new wife?

Every time they do the Say what you want about the Gilead methods, but no one else has as many children so they clearly work I mentally flip a table. You are telling me that the most efficient baby-making method is assigning the women you know can get pregnant to random, usually old men whose only qualification is "powerful"? Do they test their swimmers beforehand? I doubt it, since having a handmaiden is a privilege of the commanders ( ... )

I've seen it more explained away as "clean living" inside Gilead. Fred of course said "look how pious we are", but that's bullshit. Still, I don't like the implications that the show is playing with: yeah Gilead is harmful, but look at what worked!

Considering how Gilead presented the Handmaids to delegates from other countries they really think this is their great method everybody should adopt.

I think that surrogacy idea wouldn't guarantee booming birthrates, women would have to want to do it, if women just don't want to go through a pregnancy no compensation can make them in that scenario.
That's what Gilead is selling, they brainwash especially young girls and women into thinking birthing children, if they are able to, is their duty to society.

June had a baby, Janine had one. But we are looking at a small group of Handmaids, that DC Commander we saw in season 2 or 3 had I think already multiple children from Handmaids.

Yes. But also, as Lawrence said recently to June, Gilead doesn’t actually care about babies and children, Gilead cares about power. Currently, to the outside world, they’re boasting of their successful baby-making methods in order to wield power. And within Gilead, the religious bs and way of living to supposedly turn the birth rate around is just a way to justify controlling women (and less powerful people).

Not one word about the handmaids with the gd mouth constrains and Serena threatening June with one? I would've wanted that included in the testimony

I am still unsure if the testimony was about Fred being tried or both Waterfords. Cause agreed, if it's about both too much about Serena was left out and considering how June went in on her in their little meeting it wouldn't make sense that she suddenly holds back about her in her testimony.
