how are they gonna make yvonne strahowski (spelling? and also i forgot her name in the show) a handmaid? i thought they implied that she thought to be infertile/actually fertile and commander was sterile... but still if she's thought to be infertile why would they bother making her a handmaid then? and are they chilling in canada or were they extradited...?

sorry for all these questions i just cannot stand the meandering of this show so i don't want to watch elizabeth moss go

Serena [Spoiler (click to open)]I don't know if they will do that with her (handmaiden), but right now they're in Canada bc Serena convinced Fred to go there and try to get Nichole back. The women aren't likely the infertile ones, it's most often the men, and Fred was presumed to be. Showrunner says he was, but "Gilead's clean living" basically worked and now Fred was able to father a child. Doesn't mean Nichole is not Nick's child, still. The show hasn't gone back on that.

Lydia [Spoiler (click to open)]She's supposed to get a redemption arc bc of The Testaments novel, but hasn't exactly started on that journey yet. Probably her relationship with Janine moves her farther along the way.

[Spoiler (click to open)]She had sex with her husband and got pregnant, the assumption is they were both fertile, but were probably unlucky when they tried for a baby before. I don't remember if we learned in their flashback if they did and if so for how long.

They are at the moment prisoners in Canada, Serena tricked Fred to go there by car because she wanted to see the baby June gave birth to (the baby was brought to Canada by Emily) and handing over Fred gave her that chance. Fred has been arrested for human rights violations, Serena was arrested as well for her part in his crimes. At the moment Fred is maybe going to trial for his crimes.

It's not clear yet what they are doing with Lydia. She is on some way, if it's redemption I can't say. In my eyes she can't really redeem herself considering what she has done to these women, she can only try to make amends by taking down Gilead and even then she should be facing trial and consequences for her actions.
