I was wondering if they dropped because scheduling issues, creative issues, or because of his abusive behavior.

Yeah, it's not clear if they all turned it down bc of his behavior. His big bag of bullshit didn't bother JLaw before.

Unless something legit comes out I'm kinda doubting it.

I'm with you because actors don't turn down opportunities to work with directors who routinely get themselves and their stars, award nominations. Even if they're abusive.

I don’t know how I didn’t hear about the Amy thing before?! I must’ve blocked it from my memory like everything else to do with this jackass.

Nah, I’m fairly certain it was covered up, because this is the first I’m hearing of it too. And I have been PERCHED waiting for anecdotes of mistreatment from Amy and JLaw in particular.

Remember when that one interview came out had to be around the time of Joy, but Jennifer said that in their arguments and conversations David would refer to her as “him”. That’s always stuck with me, it just says so much about David and how much he’s threatened by women. I swear the article wanted us to think of it as ~progressive too🙄

and it's worth nothing that Jen growing up was the last child and only girl, she was never feminine or delicate and her "masculine" behavior always made her "one of the boys" so for her was easier to ignore (or to keep ignoring?) the toxic masculinity around her because she thought it was the norm.

i think after the leak of her private pictures, a lot of her opinions changed drastically, or at least i hope so in regards of men around her she thought were her friends.

Annie Mumolo, the co-writer of Bridesmaids and Kristen Wiig's collaborator, wrote one of the first drafts of that movie and recently talked about what happened when he took over the movie. She said it was heartbreaking and scary and that she was 'lambasted' when she didn't feel comfortable with changing the script to his liking. Her version of the movie would've been 100% better it's so sad that we'll never get to see it bc of that asshole. (here's an article about it: https://www.indiewire.com/2021/02/annie-mumolo-david-o-russell-rewriting-joy-heartbreaking-1234613897/)

Oh wow I had no idea about any of that! When she says she was being pushed to do things that went against her morality and values...wtf was going on!? I totally understand why she feels like she can’t open up to more specifics but I hope someday she can tell the full story of what happened. Poor thing you can tell how hurt she still is 💔
