I'm listening to the album and it's fine? I'm happy for this girl because she's def the winner vs. that guy who has her in her feelings but maybe I'm just too old lol.
I'm also so apathetic about dating/men these days so that probably has more to do with it.
I go back and forth on whether I think this is a great album- not that it matters lol because people love it and it’s gonna be a hit. I think each song on its own is strong and then there are some really really really good stand-outs. But it almost feels like it could’ve been an EP and it diminishes it to feel as though it’s been purposefully over stretched into an album. There are like 5 songs with the same tone, message, and vibe that feel as though they could’ve been cut into bonus tracks easily or turned into one super strong track.
It’s also a choice to make it purely a breakup album, and all bitter heartbreak songs, which on one hand I really like as a concept, but then kind of leaves me a bit disappointed or loses replay value for me because- purely my opinion- the whole thing feels played out v quickly. It’s stuck on one mode and she’s obviously talented so feels like it could’ve been fun to stretch out a bit.
Anyway those are my irrelevant thoughts on the album.
it’s funny you mention that bc olivia was supposed to originally just release an ep lol i wonder if they built around songs she’d written for the ep and so it ended up with this result
