I have his baseball card from when he was playing. Damn. Whatever he did, it must be really bad to get a lifetime ban. I’m sure there are others but the only 2 I know of as someone who basically just aware Baseball exists, is Marge Schott and Pete Rose. They are horrible people so I gotta figure this is really bad. I don’t have faith that the orgs are suddenly doing the right thing, and unilaterally.

Thoughts to the victim(s)

Honestly it’s frustrating within itself that it has to be really bad for a lifetime ban. Sexual assault of any sort should result in that.

I know it’s a fantasy world where men actually face accountability for their bullshit but yknow

I agree with you totally. It’s sad how conditioned we are about men not facing any consequences of abuse. Physical or sexual.

It’s almost like we all just expect it and it’s got to be a certain level for it to rattle most. And it’s really sad and dangerous that it’s still at that level.

The Black Sox also got lifetime bans, but imo Shoeless Joe does not belong in the company of a Nazi and a guy who was accused of statutory rape

Oh dear. I'm with you OP - earliest memories included watching him and I got to shake his hand at one of the world series parades and I was so happy. Men stink.

I hope the victim(s) have a good support system around them.

i have a whole collection of roberto alomar cards in mint condition and idk what i'm gonna do with them now. most of them were from my grandpa who went out of his way to get them so i might hang on to them for all those memories. i'm glad the jays have been so quick to act on this too with removing his name and banner.

i hope so too. it seems the mlb really want to respect the situation since no further details have been released. it's such an awful situation.
