Iron Man was 1, 2, 3 (GOTG was the only other one I can think of where the next movie was just 2). Captain America has always had a subtitle (The First Avenger, The Winter Solider, Civil War) so they'd probably stick to that.
it will be official but they’ll wait until sdcc or some other con to officially reveal it. they never tell the stars first, or at all lmao, i know seb never knew the winter soldier was happening or he was cast until his friend at a con text him about it
i can't wait. sambucky did an excellent job of making me care about sam. what a good man.
a counselor (a black man at that) as the face of american heroism, we love to see it. i'm not saying they handled any of it perfectly but the way he tried to reason with karli and even john touched me.
Can you imagine a trilogy with a Black Captain America and all the racists in comics fandom having a total and utter meltdown? You LOVE, and I mean LOVE, to see it.
I feel like Sam's empathy and his experience as a therapist is going to be his 'superpower', especially since we're heading into a phase with the MCU that's going to be largely about people mistrusting each other IMO (Secret Invasion coming up, Sharon being a baddie - ugh - and Wanda being cut off from everyone else I'm guessing). So they've positioned him as not only the perfect Cap but also the perfect person to compromise and reach out to unite people.
I agree! I absolutely LOVE that we are getting a black Captain America! The racist comic stans are already showing their asses. I had one tell me that Bucky was technically the only other Cap. lol They are really gonna be sick when the movie comes out.
I also love how the route they are taking with Sam. He's not trying to be Steve or anybody else. The way he treats people hasn't changed. I love the consistency in his character.

It's just also really nice that Black boys will be getting another hero they can dress up as and see themselves in, especially in the times that we live in.
I've seen idiots say that Steve Rogers can only ever be the true Captain America and I'm like, I guess that whole Isaiah Bradley storyline really went over your head hmmm? the fact that a Black super soldier had just as much inner goodness and strength as Steve yet was passed over and abused because of the colour of his skin is something you really don't care about, huh?
I already think that Sam is already going to be a more relatable Captain America for the modern audience. I also think that, thankfully, there is zero chance of him pulling out a Polaroid of his college girlfriend and teleporting back to the 90s to be with her
The first gif is ❤️, but what is the back of that suit? You know what part of the body we should leave unprotected - where the brains are, makes sense.
