I can’t... this is campaign is clearly about countries that have not yet vaccinated even health workers... I understand saying that the right thing would be the patent release, as that would be a valid criticism at the campaign ... but THIS is not a good look

I truly don’t care. When wealthy countries are hoarding vaccines, won’t release patents and won’t even send raw materials to help, they deserve to be dragged and called out. It’s okay to exploit India for their cheap labor but not help them when they need it the most? Okay then.

Good for her!
I read Melinda Gates’s book and had never considered how much the modern medical advancements I take for granted really hold back underdeveloped societies. Vaccinations & birth control are some of the simplest equalizers we can provide people to help improve their way of life.

Oh yah. The fact that menstruation can be such a financial burden to people is one of the despicable parts of a capitalist society. I am wondering now if some cultures and societies have more sustainable methods (menstrual cups or something like that) than what we do because we have more frivolous options available.

I wish more people knew about the fucked up history of birth control pills. Like people really don’t know or care how WOC, especially Puerto Rican women, were experimented on for them and just how utterly horrible the whole process was.

Well I appreciate her speaking up and trying. I've been reading about what's happening in India and it's horrible, they've been breaking the same day covid infection rate for the past 6 days.

I read that every four seconds, somebody dies of COVID in India. One hospital sent out an alert that they only had 90 minutes of oxygen left for around 200 patients. It's so fucked. They need vaccines!

If US and UK use this oportunity to make themselves look good after hogging vaccines until they reached a good point while people were dying everywhere else, I hope they get dragged hard. I have seen way too much praise for their vaccine programmes which were essentially keep everything for ourselves, fuck the rest of the world.

It's true. And now with Biden still not sure if he wants to release the patents, it makes this worse.

We want to be world police so bad but refuse to help during a fucking pandemic.

Idk the UK but the US won't be dragged hard because the media is always licking the US ass , also how Biden's win was portrayed as the second coming of Jesus as if dems and especially fucking Biden has a great track record in foreign policies ...

The us has always been always been them first, second and third

the one good thing about uk politics. if enough people give them stick they often do u-turns on policy for fear of not being re-elected and I think the whole India situation has been eye opening for a lot of people

This is an absolutely 🔥 expose on Bill Gates' role in perpetuating anti-collaborative public health norms. He's gone to grotesque lengths to protect medical monopolies. The proprietary intellectual property model is all he knows. We need new heroes. https://t.co/wBgnKVqx8P

I'll have to read this. This bums me out though. I read Melinda's book prepandemic and I like to think of myself as somewhat "woke" and more progressive than a lot of people. Her book went over things that I never considered to help fix wealth disparity so I really admired her and Bill.

billionaires from imperialist countries aren’t “nice”. Ever. Just bc they create sham charities for PR where they give out crumbs, doesn’t mean that the bulk of their real business isn’t harmful to society. Let’s see how much americans will like saint bill gates once he finally buys up all your farmland
