The set of Peaky Blinders has paid tribute to Helen McCrory, who passed away from cancer on Friday. After filming shut down following the announcement of her death, they are back to work today and saluting Helen.

I watched a clip of her on some chat show where she said that for first anniversary he was away filming and she sent him a paper bikini that would fit her perfectly. She seemed like such a sweet, hilarious person.

She had prepared their children for her death, saying, “Don’t be sad, because even though I’m about to snuff it, I’ve lived the life I wanted to.” She wanted the family to live and be happy, telling them, “I want Daddy to have girlfriends, lots of them, you must all love again, love isn’t possessive, but you know, Damian, try at least to get though the funeral without snogging someone.”

That made me tear up too. You can tell she loved her husband and children so much, and that they adored her. I hope her husband and kids have a really wonderful support circle around them at this time, not that it would ever truly take away the pain from losing your wife/parent.

Her poor kids are just young teenagers, my heart breaks for them! That she had these conversations with them though seems like such a healthy thing to do. These kids are so young and they will grieve either way but I would imagine it being very helpful to have some guiding words from your mom about how life should be like after she is gone.
