I became a Vanessa Carlton megafan between her 2nd and 3rd albums. never was too keen on her first. liked her 4th a lot even though I miss the really cinematic, big orchestral sound she had dropped by then

I still want to know the tea on what producing her 3rd album was like with Stephan Jenkins considering they broke up partway through it and then he sang backing vocals on a song VERY clearly about him (Fools Like Me)

Totally agree that I miss the more robust orchestration of albums 1-3. Rabbits on the Run, Liberman, and the newest one are good, some songs are really strong, but they're sooo pared down. I wish she'd go big again instead of going so small.
