I can't stop thinking about how men would rather hurt themselves in any number of ways, then even grant the illusion of equality to women in one single way.

"Equality" is a truly fruitless goal in a patriarchy. It's never going to happen. Separatism and female autonomy are the only way out.

it's rather sad that women will push back against their own liberation

So many men refuse to examine why they personally don't care about watching women excel. Apparently women are just uninteresting on a biological level, even to ourselves, and it requires no more insight than that.

it's weird... I don't watch other organized sports so I can only speak about basketball (even then, I mostly just watch my own team lol) but a lot of men say they don't care about the WNBA because, basically, "they can't/don't dunk" and therefore it's not as exciting. Some have even suggested lowering the net to make it easier as a way to increase viewership and interest. I'm not even sure how to feel about that because of course it's discounting women's talents and their own natural abilities by basically saying "lol but dunking is cool and you can't do it" on the other hand, if making any small modification (net level or otherwise) DID increase interest/viewership... should it be done?
Mostly I lean towards no, but it was just interesting to me to read that. I never heard anyone say that until recently and apparently it's somewhat of a common suggestion

Men will always, always, always move the goalposts on women. As soon as women are capable of dunking, they'll have another excuse because they don't want to say the reason, which is that they intrinsically don't like women.

lol yeah probably like "okay she can dunk but can she ______"
It's something for women to check themselves about too, I can't say I go out of my way to watch the WNBA (I really only watch Raptors gams though and can't be fucked about any other team usually lol) but for someone who is a true fanatic about the sport you think they would watch any content they can, and even then some dudes would rather watch the shittiest team in the NBA league than probably ever check out the WNBA
