Her eyes are staring into my soul. No, but seriously though, I don’t understand how she got away with it all. Don’t these people have vetting systems in place before they make huge investments into products? There were some people that gave her all their life savings and I’m like why? This is the epitome of white privilege. If she were BIPOC, they would make her jump through all these loops for wealthy people to even consider investing in her. All these men saw a pretty white girl and jumped. I don’t even think she’ll serve considerable jail time tbh.

I would love to have kids, but I want to be able to afford them and take care of them the best I could, and I don't know if I'll ever be in a position where I feel comfortable to do that. I'm a software engineer, but i'm currently unemployed and the job search is so horrid and evil I kind of just want to die. I was laid off from my last SWE job and it's been hell trying to find work since. I had 5 interviews with a company only to be told that they run out of funding for the position. It takes months to get employed. If I was working, there is no guarantee of stability so i'm not sure if that will help. My current partner is in the same boat. If we were both working in stable jobs, I would be trying for sure.

Back on topic for Elizabeth, I hate this woman.

Sending you the best in your job hunt. I was there last year and it was devastating. Even though I have a job, my work is piecemeal so if I don’t have work coming in, I don’t get paid. And work is almost nonexistent for obvious reasons so yay!

god, if something that sounds as grounded and practical to me as software engineering is that unstable (just my outside perception as someone that works in a more 'frivolous' industry obvs you know your field best) then we are all well and truly fucked, huh.
