The older I got the more I realized how basic Potter and that world are. It's kids books that got wayyyy too hyped up by our generation. Lol one of my favourite things is seeing genZers tearing it down on Tiktok

Yeah, I read the first 4 when each came out just because that’s what everyone was doing but I was already well and truly an adult by then so they never really grabbed me. I tried to read the first one to my kid when she was about five and she got bored. There’s a good story in there but the writing itself is meh and she really needed a more ruthless editor.

Hmm yeah I tried reading the first book when I was already in my late teens, just because they were sooo popular at the time and everyone was talking about them, it was the period when all these adults were infamously reading them and there was this big thing about how they work for any age group, and so to be completely honest I was a little taken-back at just how much it felt like a book for 8-10 year olds to me after all of that hype led me to expect something different. I never ended up reading past the first book, but idk I’m sure that I would have felt differently if I had read it for the first time when I was younger, it was an interesting world that she created

She's such a cruel and repugnant individual and I'm glad he spoke up even though I'm sure this will negatively impact his involvement in any future HP campaigns or projects.

I read the headline and thought Ralph Fiennes did something now.

Soooooo he finds the level of (legit/justified)rage people have towards others who have a different opinion ...disturbing....as if it’s worse than transgender people being assaulted/killed ....that’s not disturbing? Not even on the same level brah. Somethings don’t need compromise.
He needs to sort out his priorities.

I mean Rowling got a heap of graphic rape and death threats. Not saying rage against her agenda isn’t justified but we can do it without resorting to misogyny and gendered violence.

Ralph’s a posh white Englishman though so probably thinks privilege is a French cracker.

i'm glad he spoke up.

I HATE his character in 'Servant' but that means he's doing a good job. I hate everyone in that show, though. This show is 27 minutes of nothing and 2 minutes of something to hook you to the next episode.

I just hate Sean and Julian more because they could just TELL HER THE TRUTH! Go to therapy, work it out as a family, but noooo! They are the epitome of white privilege.
